Worship teams

“Man’s chief end is to glorify God and to enjoy him forever” - Westminster Shorter Catechism

Worship, adoration and recognition that God is above all is an integral part of any committed Christian's life, and the opportunity to join in corporate, sung worship is an important expression of this.  In St Andrew's we are fortunate to have a number of musicians, singers and worship leaders who provide live, sung worship at our services and events and help express our wonder, joy and adoration to God.

The style of sung worship we lead tends to be more contemporary, along the lines of New Wine and Spring Harvest.  We also share the same vision of worship as New Wine, which is that our times of corporate sung worship should be: Inspiring, passionate, intimate, culturally appropriate and led in a way that facilitates an encounter with the living God.

All our musicians are church members and are slotted into “worship teams” so that they can develop and grow together as they lead. These teams consist of some or all of the following elements:

  • Leaders
  • Singers
  • Acoustic guitarists
  • Keyboard players
  • Electric guitarists
  • Bass players
  • Drummers
  • Tune instruments – such as violin, flute and trumpet

In addition to the above, we have sound technicians, who are required to operate the mixing desk and visual technicians who operate the laptop, DVD and projector used within our services.

Although we have a good number of people involved in leading we are always looking to encourage, train and equip others to develop skills and abilities in these areas. If you are interested then please make contact with the church office

We are also fortunate to have some of our own “home grown” worship songs written by few people within the church, these form part of our weekly times of sung worship. Again, further details of these songs can be obtained via the church office.
