St Andrew's Church Starbeck
Worship Teams
Francis & Elaine
In 2006 the leadership of St Andrews began looking at ways the building could be improved for the benefit of both the regular worshipping community and also the wider community in Starbeck. Major considerations were for the building to be easily accessible to all people regardless of their ability, to provide for the comfort and needs of all visitors, and to create a warm, hospitable and welcoming meeting space, including a large and flexible worship area.

You can download our building project introduction sheet which explains the thinking behind the project. More information about the building project together with presentations, newsletters and illustrations can be found on our building project webpage.

We held a very successful gift day for the building project on Sunday March 21st - thank you to all who contributed - and we are still receiving gifts for the building project. The amount of money now given or pledged for the St Andrew's "Building for the future" project is just over £105,000. This includes pledges and promised giving that we expect to receive during the next couple of years, as well as the gift-aid we shall claim. This means that we are now more than one fifth of the way to the £500,000 we need for the planned building improvements.

The architects' plans are at an advanced stage, and under review by the buildings working group. We anticipate having plans ready for submission to the planning authorities by July. You can view the current architects' plans and all the project documents and newsletters by visiting our building project webpage.
